Founded in 1996 by London-based designers Justin Thornton and Thea Bregazzi, Preens offers a cool match of classic pieces and rocker chic. Before launching Preen, Thornton, who graduated from the Winchester Scool of Art, honed his skills designing the Second Life collection for designer Helen Storey. At that time Bregazzi, a graduate of the University of Central Lancashire, was working as a freelance designer. The two designers first came together to consult on Storey's '96/'97 autumn/winter collection and found designing with one another proved inspiring and productive. After launching Preen, in 2008 the designer-turned-couple debuted Preen Line. Since opening their atelier on Portabello Road, the use of vintage fabrics and edgy inspirations have elevated Preen and Preen Line to a must-have status with international celebrities and stylists
